You May Have Missed This Report. (It Was Planned That Way).
November 2018

It was the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday. And if, like many Americans, you were focused on shopping, football and leftovers, you may have missed a graphic report – produced by the US government’s own analysts – which shows that your livelihood in America will massively worsen in the next few years.
Why?
What Does The Report Say About Your Livelihood?
The US Climate Assessment looked at what has been happening in the US, and coordinated that with other reports. Scientists found that:-
- Sea levels along the US coast have increased by around 9in since the early 20th century. Many coastal communities will be transformed. Property values will be badly hit, and people will migrate.
- There is flooding on the east coast, soil loss in the midwest and coastal erosion in Alaska
- California has deadly and massively destructive wildfires – these will be more frequent and larger in the future, according to the report.
- 2017 was the costliest year ever for climate-related disasters, with a record $306 billion in damages. Who pays for that?
- 16 of the last 17 years have been the warmest on record globally. 2017 was the United States’ second-hottest in history
- Fisheries, tourism, human health and public safety are being affected by sea level rise and extreme weather.
- Expect more extreme weather, resulting in deaths and hardship.
- More than 100m people in the US live in places with poor air quality – and it’s going to get worse due to global warming.
- Increased wildfire smoke brings respiratory and cardiovascular problems, as well as asthma and hay fever issues.
- Less groundwater is available now and it’s poorer quality across the country.
- Crop failures will affect food security.
- Low-income and marginalized communities will be worst hit, because fewer options are available.
- The effects of climate change are so huge that they will hurt the US economy, affecting trade and worsening overseas conflicts.
Americans face huge threats that will affect every aspect of American life, and everyone’s livelihood. The US economy and human health and well-being will suffer.
(Of course, it is similar for other countries too, but this report is based on and in the US).
Why Was The Report Published?
Congress mandates that every Administration produces a climate change update every 4 years.
So it was required – and then the White House chose to release it on Black Friday, a popular shopping holiday the day after Thanksgiving. That tells you that it wanted fewer people to see the news about the findings.
What Did The President Say About It?
“I don’t believe it,” he said. He’s said the same thing about all other studies on climate change.
“Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS – Whatever happened to Global Warming?” he tweeted.
But science doesn’t lie. There is now so much evidence that it is irrefutable. Climate change is real, it’s happening right now, and it’s driven by our use of fossil fuels.
Yet the Trump Administration continues a fossil-fuel-focused, “energy dominance” agenda, curbing every major policy that lowers emissions.
- He blames the California wildfires on bad forest management and environmental groups.
- He wants to open nearly all U.S. waters to oil and gas development.
- He is rolling back curbs on fossil fuel pollution prevention.
- He is steadily rolling back all the safeguards adopted after the catastrophic 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
So, he’ll carry on pursuing policies that will make climate change worse, and make the world more polluted and less safe and healthy for Americans. Global warming and Trump are having a huge – and dangerous – effect on your livelihood, now and in the future.
It’s shocking.

The man is a moron and there is no other way to put it. I know a lot of “intelligent” people that believe the same thing. Very glad I have no grandchildren and I won’t be here much longer. I do hope I can be here long enough to see him voted out. You don’t have to be a scientist to see the truth of it.
Indeed he is! Oh, I also hope I see him voted out – the damage to his monstrous ego would be so huge! Although who knows what the next incumbent will be like? Oh well, we’ll just keep trying – thanks Marlene!
