Candida? A Healthy Gut Will Really Help Resistance and Treatment

A Healthy Gut Is Your Best Route to Treating – and Preventing – Candida Problems

Hippocrates (an ancient Greek physician, regarded as the “father of medicine”) stated that, “All disease begins in the gut.” And he was right! A healthy gut is massively important to your overall health and well-being.

It is estimated that as much as 60% to 75% of all human illness is related to some kind of problem in your gut. That’s quite something, isn’t it?

If you’re worried about candida, guess where the candida albicans fungus naturally lives? That’s right, in your gastrointestinal tract.

What’s the Problem With Candida?

Candida is usually not a problem. If everything is working properly in your digestive system, the naturally-occurring candida fungus in your body is kept at a healthy level.

BUT, if there’s a problem with your digestive system, candida overgrowth can occur. This leads to yeast infections which present themselves in your mouth and throat, genitals, or as a skin condition.

(Candida is also sometimes known as thrush).

If candida overgrowth is not stopped, you might develop more serious health conditions.

So, it makes sense to solve – and, even better, to prevent – candida overgrowth and digestive problems.

Luckily, we know exactly how to do that.

How to Have a Healthy Gut

Normally you have a healthy ratio of 85% good bacteria and 15% bad bacteria. But when you have digestive issues, this is thrown out of whack. Your healthy bacteria can no longer stop candida from an overgrowth scenario, and yeast infections develop.

To prevent this, you need to watch what you eat (obviously, seeing as it’s your digestive system that needs improving!).

For a healthy gut, you need to

  1. Cut down on processed foods (fast food, junk food)
  2. Reduce the amount of sugar you eat (cookies, baked goods, creamy coffees, etc.).
  3. Try to eat organic whole food wherever possible, to reduce the pesticide load
  4. Eat lots of fermented foods such as miso, kimchi, sauerkraut and plain cultured yogurt – these will provide the probiotics you need for a healthy gut.

But it’s not just what you eat – although that’s the area where you’ll see the most immediate improvement.

What you eat and drink is hugely important for your gut health, but so are your lifestyle and environment.

You should try, if possible, to avoid air pollution. And of course, try if you can to avoid stress. Work out what causes you stress, and see if there’s a way you can avoid it.

Follow these steps and you can return your gut to proper health, keeping candida and other harmful microorganisms at bay.
